Wedding bells, revisited
I finally finished proofing Keysha's and Chris's 7-7-07 wedding! I already mentioned what a beautiful wedding they had, but now you can see for yourself! Check out their slideshow! (You can see it a little larger here.)

I know how it ends! I was agonizing all week over the release of the final Harry Potter novel...excited and nervous at the same time, fearful that any one of my favorite characters might be killed off. Since it was just about all I could think about all week, you better believe I was at the midnight release party at my local B&N!
Here is the winner of the costume contest--isn't he CUTE?!
Some Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, which I have never been brave enough to try:
My friend who also went to the party to indulge in nerdiness with me:
I'm on the business end of her wand!
The golden snitch:
And here's the costume contest winner again, casting spells at me from behind the Entertainment Weekly stand:
He finally let me take his closeup:
Here my friend discovered, to her great delight, that there is a Harry Potter knitting book!
I needed some hot chocolate to help keep my eyes open toward the end of the wait...
But finally, the prize!
I stayed up most of the night reading, and after taking some time out for a photo session this afternoon, I finished reading the book this evening. And boy, do I feel emotionally exhausted! It was so wonderful to find out how it all ends, but I feel really really sad at the same time that it's over. I want more! In fact, I think I'm going to get back in bed and re-read the last few chapters again. I was racing through them so quickly to find out what happened next that I'm not sure I took in everything I should have. I'll see you at Hogwarts! ;)
Today I thought I'd introduce the world to our two kitties: Tater and Lucy. Tater is the orange one; her real name is actually Sweet Potato because of her color, but we always call her Tater for short. We got her for my husband's birthday a couple years ago, so she is a little more than two years old now. Tater is a bit cantankerous, but she's extremely smart and can be very sweet when she wants to be.
Lucy is the gray one, and she's almost a year old now. She may not be as smart as Tater, but she makes up for it with her good nature and cuddly-ness! She's also very demanding--when she meows, you better be ready to pet her!
I love both kitties so much, not least of all because they let me take their pictures all the time! Plus, I never had pets when I was a kid, so these guys mean a lot to me. And we're getting ready for a new addition to the family--a puppy this time! We are getting a baby Old English Sheepdog at the end of August, so stay tuned for lots of photos!
On what was rumored to be the most popular wedding date in history (07-07-07), I had the good fortune of shooting my very first wedding!!! The lovely couple that graciously allowed me to do the honors was Keysha and Chris, a very cool pair who hail from Tennessee. Their wedding was a small affair in a small Texas town, but it was big on charm and fun. Here are a few sneak peeks for the bride and groom!
The beautiful couple, with their very serious model-faces on:
The blushing bride:
The dapper groom:
Her beautiful dress and accessories:
Ivory roses:
Wedding cake in Tiffany blue:
And groom's cake in sinful chocolate:
And more of the couple!
Aren't they the cutest?! Thanks so much, Keysha and Chris, for letting me be a part of your special day--I had a blast!
We got to see my husband's cousins (hmmm, are they my cousins now too? or cousins-in-law?) last weekend while we were in north Texas, and it stopped raining just long enough for them to use the pool . . . so of course I had to get out the camera! Besides being ridiculously cute, they are the sweetest, most well-behaved kids I've ever met. And she's going to be quite the heart-breaker in a few years! Sorry for the zillion images, I just couldn't decide on my favorites!
I'm not really a critter-lover myself, but here are some I met last weekend -- through the safety of my macro lens!
First, a polite little lady bug:
Then, a scary black widow spider:
This turtle kept finding its way to the bottom of the swimming pool:
And we found this little frog nearby:
Then my husband thought it would be nice to introduce the two:
And everyone became fast friends!
